sailing is hard, when your crew is but one
but you keep pressing on

then one night that beast
took my boat
rocked and tossed it, but it kept a float
through most the night
but when it was day
I saw that my boat had been taken away
I was left out in the water
no one was around
I cried and I shouted
but I couldn't heart a sound
and as I watched that whale go, I felt so old
I realized it was so stupid to be so bold

and I let go and sank deep
deep into the sea
let go of my life, and let the water fill me

and the fish they swam around
and the water fill my soul and lungs
and the millions who ran as this town burned down
won't ever even hear this song
no they won't ever hear this song
I'm just a sinking part of history
